This isn't a baking blog or a ministry blog (but I'll talk about those), and it's not a gardening blog (goodness, no). This is just a blog about anything, and maybe everything, that I'm thinking about right now.

Colorado Mountain Brewery - Thumbs Up!
Steve and I got to try out a new restaurant for a lunch meeting today. We headed up north, to I-25/Interquest Pkwy, to Colorado Mountain Brewery (right next to Hollywood Theaters).
This place gets a thumbs up from us!
The interior was nicer than I was expecting, less "brewery" and more upscale, without being stuffy. (On a minor side note: the bathroom was really clean.) Service was attentive and friendly, and she didn't get mad at us for sitting and talking for 2 1/2 hours. (Yep.)
My M.O. at a new restaurant is to order something that the restaurant/chefs are proud of. I like to see what they want to show off for me. Unfortunately, I can't be so creative in my ordering when I'm pregnant, since my appetite doesn't always cooperate. So for this, my first time at CMB, I ordered a Caesar salad. ($7 for the meal-sized salad with chicken) It was the best Caesar salad I've had in years! The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the chicken was perfectly cooked, the parmesan was rather thickly sliced and very tasty, and the dressing was great, if a tad too garlicky, which Steve will remind me of for the next couple of days.
Steve ordered one of their "Fourteener" burgers, called a Mt. Princeton ($10?). It was topped with aged cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, jalapenos, and amber ale barbecue sauce, and came with a side of seasoned fries. Steve said it was really good and is eager to go back!
I have to mention the burger that excites me the most. As soon as I have my real appetite (read non-pregnant) back I'm going to try the Long's Peak burger ($12), with caramelized onions, grilled mushrooms, proscuitto, truffle oil and brie cheese. Yum! Maybe even try it with a chicken breast instead of a beef patty. And I'll get some of their sweet potato fries to go alongside.
This time around, we didn't test out their beer selection or their dessert menu.
So, have you tried out this place? What did you think?
