This isn't a baking blog or a ministry blog (but I'll talk about those), and it's not a gardening blog (goodness, no). This is just a blog about anything, and maybe everything, that I'm thinking about right now.

Colorado Springs Yogurt Tour

Several years ago when we spent the summer in Long Beach, CA, we had a grand time touring each of the yogurt places, getting the flavor of each one, and learning the subtle differences between Pinkberry, Yogurtland, and Golden Spoon.

And now we have the distinct pleasure in Colorado Springs of being able to take our own little tour of frozen yogurt places!

So, friends, here's your assignment if you choose to accept it:

Tomorrow, Thursday, at 3 pm
First step: Gather a group of adventurous friends or your family or a date.
With a hungry tummy and a full tank of gas, go to iTopit at Circle and I-25, near Tinseltown.  Get a very small portion, you still have a ways to go!  (This is the perfect time to practice that portion control stuff you always hear about.)  Sit in the restaurant.  Notice the decor, the yogurt and topping options, and the prices.

Next, take Circle east to Platte and go right.  Follow Platte to Powers and head north (left).  At Stetson Hills turn right and go into the shopping center on the southeast corner of Powers and Stetson Hills.  You are now at YoYogurt.  Take a minute to "check in" at YoYogurt on Facebook so you get a 10% discount and so all your friends will get jealous of you eating yogurt.  Again, small portions are the key.  Get a very little bit of frozen yogurt for yourself.  You can try to get the same thing as you just got at iTopit in order to compare, or you can get something entirely different.  The world is your oyster.  Notice the decor, options and prices.  Which one do you like better?

Last stop: Pinkberry.  This is the first real California chain we've gotten in Colorado Springs.  You're about to taste the real thing.  What will you think?  Will it be better?  The same?  Or will it disappoint?

At this time, you might not be very excited at the thought of more frozen yogurt.  The good news is, this last stop will be FREE.  (Thursday is Pinkberry's grand opening.  Yogurt is free from 5-9 pm.)

Go north on Powers to Woodmen.  Head west on Woodmen to Academy - go north.  On your right, next to Buffalo Wild Wings and Jason's Deli is the new Pinkberry shop.

Get your free frozen yogurt and compare.  What do you think?  How do the decor, price, options compare?

So what do you think?  What's your favorite?

And, if you do this, you HAVE to tell me how it went!

  1. There's a new on behind Salsa Brava in Briargate called LuLu's Frozen Yogurt. Put that on your list next time. Sounds like a fun outing.

  2. I'll have to try that one! And I failed to mention TCBY. Oops. :) I haven't been to TCBY since the 90's, but I was never impressed with it then... :)
